Reno is located on a branch off the mainline at Spring Garden where it interchanges with the Southern Pacific. There are 8 industries located in Reno in addition to the SP interchange tracks. The local switches these industries and then runs to Oakland with work along the way, returning in the afternoon.  Traffic for Salt Lake is left at Spring Garden to be picked up by the mainline freights out of Oakland. The power is a GP35 run on battery power.  One of the industries services Hooker tank cars from Stockton which is legal in Nevada!
